Study Of aUditory Neural Discrimination (SOUND) Project
Our team is examining the neural foundations of sensory processing in adults (18-35 years) with and without autism. Language skills and the processing of sounds are highly variable in autism, and this study will add to our understanding. Led by NIH F31 graduate fellows Hannah Thomas (1F31DC021637-01) and Becca Canale (1F31DC022187-01), this project examines the processing of sounds in the brain using EEG and MRI; in the long term, this knowledge will support the development of language interventions.
